Optipak Floor Display Program

The goal of this project was to jumpstart and conceptualize a subscription-based program for optical and retail stores. The program aimed to provide continuous stock and offer manual or auto-refills for eyewear accessories in retail shops. Its key selling point was increasing revenue for stores by introducing additional upsell opportunities for consumers purchasing eyewear. The program included multiple tiered packages and display units, each designed for customization to meet diverse retail needs.

The development process began with the floor displays. Drawing from initial samples and previous client work, I proposed making the displays more modular and adding glasses hooks for greater flexibility. This allowed retail stores to customize their display plans according to their needs. For the packaging, we developed a generic Optipak-branded design for nine different eyewear accessories. The design featured a navy base with bright accent colors—blue, green, and orange—to create a modern aesthetic and clearly differentiate quantities. Prior to production, I produced mockup visuals for stakeholder approval, created dielines, then prepared files for print. While working on packaging designs with China, we worked on function of the ordering process on the website, I utilized Figma to create mockups, testing subscription methods and designing an intuitive ordering process for the program. Following package sampling, we launched the product line with educational presentations and meetings to educate staff and external stakeholders. These presentations highlighted the display program's features and benefits to the targeted consumer. The reception was overwhelmingly positive, with larger stores placing custom orders, including personalized retail bags and packaging.
